Youth Ministries

Little Angels  - Children aged 40 days to 4 years old gather each week on Tuesday morning with a parent or guardian.  The children participate in activities including: discussions with the priest, games, sing songs, and have snack while adults create friendships through their mutual Orthodox upbringing. This ministry has been run by long time parishioner Bess Smyrniotes and is one of our most vibrant ministries.

Hope and Joy - Hope and Joy ministers to our young children from ages 3-11. We meet at least once a month after our Saturday Greek School session. We focus on fellowship among the youth in our community as well as a lesson that is relevant to their age group and their faith.

Hope and Joy plants the seeds in our youth so that they can begin to grow the roots of a Christ centered home with their families.

GOYA - The Greek Orthodox Youth of America, or GOYA, is a ministry for youth from middle school through high school. Since GOYA is a ministry, the orientation and implementation of the program should reflect the Orthodox Christian faith, tradition and life.

In addition to the programs, we strive to offer distinct activities for middle and high school youth.

Acolytes -Boys from seven years and older are encouraged to participate as altar boys. Serving in the Holy Altar offers the opportunity to serve Christ in the context of liturgical services. There is no greater privilege bestowed upon a young man of the parish than being chosen to serve God, his church, the priest, and the congregation during divine services. It is a unique opportunity to learn from the priest, to learn from each other, and to grow in stature and grace within the Church, and to learn about the Divine Liturgy.
