Holy Confession: It is customary to receive the Sacrament of Holy Confession during Lent. This can be done by appointment with Fr. Chrysanthos or Fr. Peter. If you are interested, please do not wait until Holy Week!

Readers Needed for Agape Service: We need readers for Russian, Albanian, Arabic, Spanish, and any other language besides Greek and English for the Gospel Reading at the Agape Service on Easter Sunday. Anyone who can read in these or any other languages, please email Father Peter at frpetersarolas@gmail.com.

Pascha Donations: Every year, our parish needs many items in order to celebrate the Divine Services of Holy Week. If you are interested in making any donations for religious items for Holy Week, Pascha, or for the feast of Saint George, please call the Church office at (773)525-1793.

SERVICES:

Friday. April 04: - Akathist Hymn at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, April 05: Orthros, 8:30 AM; and Divine Liturgy, 9:30 AM at St. Lazarus Chapel

Sunday, April 06: Orthros, 8:15 AM; Divine Liturgy, 9:30 AM

  • Greek Independence Day Parade starts at 2:30 at Greektown. A bus will be provided from St. George to Greektown and back. Reservations are needed for the bus.

Monday, April 07: Great Compline at 6:00 PM

Wednesday, April 09: Ninth Hour and Presanctified Liturgy at 6:00 PM.

  • Religious Education Seminar “The Triumph of the Cross and the Resurrection - The Hope of New Life”

  • Lenten Meal offered by the Parish Council

Saturday of Lazarus, April 12: Orthros, 8:30 AM; Divine Liturgy, 9:30 AM at St. George Church and St. Lazarus Chapel

  • Lenten Breakfast will be served after the service, offered by the Ladies Educational Society.

  • Making Palm Crosses to be distributed to the faithful on Palm Sunday.

  • The Parish Council and a team of volunteers will be setting up for the annual Palm Sunday Luncheon.

  • Volunteers will decorate and prepare the church for Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday, April 13:

8:15 AM, Orthros; 9:30 AM, Divine Liturgy

  • Annual Traditional Palm Sunday Luncheon after Divine Liturgy in the Community Center. Due to the high demand, reservations are necessary for this luncheon. Contact Eleni Vasilopoulos to reserve a spot.
