Parish Council Elections

Congratulations to our new and returning parish council members:

Roula Abajian, Spiridoula Arceo, Angelo C. Dalageorgas, Theodora Diolitsis, Owen Field, James Metropulos, Paul Rentzelos, Konstantine Sepsis, Elias Voulgaris.

OFFICIAL NOTICE — Elections for 10 spots on the Parish Council for the 2025– 2026  term will be held on December 8, 2024, immediately following the Divine Liturgy until 2:00 p.m., in the Community Center.

ΕΠΙΣΗΜΗ ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΗ — Εκλογές για τις 10 θέσεις που θα απαρτἰζουν το Συμβούλιο της Ενορίας μας για τα έτη 2025 - 2026 θα πραγματοποιηθούν στις 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2024, ακολούθως της Θείας Λειτουργίας στιν κοινοτικήν αίθουσα. 

Qualifications to be a Candidate for the Parish Council

• A candidate for the Parish Council must be a parishioner in good standing of the Parish for at least one (1) year immediately preceding the election date and must live his or her life according to the Faith and canons of the Church.

•  The Priest determines whether the Parishioners are in canonical and financial good standing as specified in Article 18, Sections 1 through 3 of the Archdiocese regulations.

•  Must attend the Parish Council seminar, (date to be determined), and be willing to take the following Oath of Office:

"I, (name) do solemnly affirm that I will uphold the dogmas, teachings, traditions, holy canons, discipline, worship, and moral principles of the Greek Orthodox Church, as well as the Charter and Regulations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, and that I will fulfill faithfully and sincerely the duties and obligations required of a member of the Parish Council. So help me God."

Additional Responsibilities

•    Participate in the sacramental life of the Church, thereby setting an example for the parish, to collect the revenue of the Church, and to administer  the affairs of the parish in such a manner as to aid the Priest in the fulfillment of its aims and purposes.

•    After appropriate discussion, support and cooperate with all majority decisions of the Parish Council.

  Before November 29, 2024 

• Return the Nomination Form (see below) to the church office or email it to FrChrysanthos@gmail.com for the Board of Elections review by Friday, November 29, 2024, no later than 3:00 pm. 

• Submit a short bio and a photo to the office. 

• Attend the Parish Council seminar (date to be determined)

• Complete the Metropolis of Chicago “Preventing Sexual Harassment Training” and Youth Protection Manual/Sterling Volunteers

• Sign Addendum A-3 “Conflicts and Related Party Transactions Disclosure Policy Statement, Parish Council – prior to December 8, 2024
